On Friday, the 24th of November we started our trip to the theatre at 9 am in front of the Polish-German primary school. After making sure every child made it safely to the bus station and then into the bus, we encountered another school that was on the way to the same theatre as we were. When we arrived at the theatre, we had to wait for a few minutes in the foyer, during which the children ate some snacks that they comradely shared with each other.
After we were let into the actual theatre, we were shown our seats and the kids started sitting down after getting booster cushions for themselves. When the lights finally dimmed, an exited whisper went through the theatre and the actors started a wonderful performance of Alice in Wonderland. The children got especially exited whenever the performers started singing and clapped enthusiastically, albeit a little out of sync, and some even went as far as dancing in their seats. It was joyous to watch.
Personally, I found it the most fascinating, how the actors played out all the special effects of shrinking or growing exponentially that take place in Alice in Wonderland without all the special effects a movie production provides.
At 1 pm we arrived back at school after taking the bus once again and all the children went back to their classes.
